HandsOn Jacksonville’s consulting services build capacity for nonprofit agencies. We specialize in volunteer management and board leadership and are available to conduct board retreats and orientations. Below are examples of some of our most popular board modules. Roles and Responsibilities of Nonprofit Boards

Objectives

To increase understanding of the role of the nonprofit board of directors To identify qualities that make a board effective and barriers that limit board effectiveness To identify and explore the board's fiduciary, financial and programmatic responsibilities To identify and explore the corporate and individual duties of board members
To clarify the relationship between the board, the staff, and the executive

The Nonprofit Board Development Cycle

Objectives

To increase understanding of various board processes, including recruiting, orientation, and
education
To explore strategies for developing and strengthening a board of directors

Nonprofit Policy Standards and Controls

Objectives

To define common terms related to policy controls
To explore standards for nonprofit organizations to use as a basis for policy creation and development
To identify specific areas that should be governed by organizational policy
To describe the steps in a recommended control development process

Conducting Effective Board Meetings

Objectives

To increase understanding of meeting management principles for the nonprofit board of directors
To explore strategies for conducting effective board meetings

Consulting Rates

Weekday Rates:
Sessions begin no later than 6:30 pm

Member Rates: $150 @ hour (2 hour minimum)
$150 each additional hour
Non-Member Rates: $225 @ hour (2 hour minimum)
$225 for each additional hour

Saturday Rates:

Member Rates: $200 @ hour (2 hour minimum)
$200 for each additional hour
Non-member Rates: $375 @ hour (2 hour minimum)
$375 for each additional hour

All consulting services include printed resource materials, supplemental materials where needed and workshop/trainer evaluations.
