HandsOn Jacksonville Training

HandsOn Jacksonville (HOJ) knows volunteering!  Whether you are volunteering by serving on a nonprofit board of directors, leading projects in the community, or managing volunteers in a nonprofit agency, HOJ has courses designed to equip you to bring the skills and expertise needed to make a difference in the agencies in which you serve.

The Volunteer Management Training Series is designed to help both veteran and new volunteer directors organize, implement, and evaluate their volunteer programs.  The training is offered in an interactive format and allows for networking and problem solving.  Those successfully completing this 6 module training receive a certificate of completion from the State of Florida's Office of Volunteering.

Project Leader Training is for anyone who is interested in serving in a leadership position on a community project which is managed by HandsOn Jacksonville.

Blueprint for Leadership is an in depth, life-changing board leadership training experience which culminates in a board internship.  This 6-month program (one day per month) will thoroughly prepare you to serve effectively on a nonprofit board of directors.

Do you know your responsibilities and liability of serving on a nonprofit board of directors?  HOJ's three-hour Roles and Responsibilities of Nonprofit Board training will sharpen your skills and maximize your effectiveness while serving on your organization's board.

If you cannot attend one of our scheduled courses, we also arrange customized training and consultations to meet your needs.  Click Consultations.

Project Leader Training

Project Leader Training is a free training offered to individuals and groups through HandsOn Jacksonville.  It is designed for community members who want to become engaged in positive community change through leadership.  The training prepares individuals to lead groups of volunteers in meaningful service projects developed in collaboration with HandsOn Jacksonville and members of the local non-profit community.

The training itself runs 2-3 hours and covers: information on the nonprofit partners with whom HOJ works, selection and /or design of projects, recruitment of volunteers, and management of projects using the 'HandsOn' model and technology.  Project Leaders are valued as a crucial component of HandsOn Jacksonville.
